Valerie Ng’s abstract paintings are created through explorations in colour, light, form and texture. A dynamic balance of strokes and subtle variations to convey a sense of mood and movement on the surface. She is inspired by the natural elements in the environment thus the works envisage an experience or atmospheric feel. She attended The Slade Summer School of Art, UK in 2002 and has exhibited at the Singapore Art Museum as well as the National Art Gallery, Malaysia. She has won awards in the UOB Painting of the Year competition and been a finalist in the Sovereign Asian Art Prize.
