Project6581 2014
Project6581 is a collaboration of INSTINC Singapore and Youkobo Art Space Tokyo. Gaining its name from the phone codes of Japan and Singapore this project involves the exchange of 4 artists from each country in a collaborative residence program. Each pair of artists immersed themselves in the city for a period of one month and created works inspired by the city.
Coney Island Abstract 2010
Two artists, one from New York City and the other from Singapore, will come together to share their visual language on July 16 , 17 & 18 July. The result will be an exciting collaborative performance/installation on a series of large scale canvases. The works will be created on the Coney Island boardwalk at West 21 historic Childs Building.
The public is invited to participate in the painting process using roller blades, remote control cars, feet, balls, and balloons. Yeo Shih Yun and Paul Campbell’s goal is to create an exciting visual dialogue that will allow them to merge their individual landscapes of visual memory and experience with each other and with that of the general public. By encouraging friends, family, and Coney Island visitors to participate, the project will expand its scope exponentially.
The project aims to create art work that is relevant to the world we exist in and pay homage to expressionist works of the past.
