Shadows of Tomorrow by Bridget Tay

SGD 400.00

Mixed Media on Canvas.

22 x 17 x 13 cm.

2023.

Bridget Tay (b. May 1989) is a Singaporean artist and curator with a knack for education. She gained her Master of Fine Arts from Goldsmiths, University of London in 2014. She was a recipient of The Lasalle Scholarship in 2013 and is no stranger to both government and privately funded exhibitions such as RHYTHM (2018), The Artist Village presents "Portraiture" (SG-BKK-NZ 2018-2019) and Do you believe in Angels? (2014) which was curated by Tony Godfrey at the Mo_Space in Manila, Philippines and also at Equator Arts Project in Singapore.

Bridget plays around with clichés and art jargon as commentaries on the political, social and art landscape in Singapore, ultimately presenting a medium as the message in opposition to the two states of reality reflected in the artwork and physical realness. Her formal explorations in painting look at the concept of space as a physical entity in conjunction to an expanded field of painting.
