Postcards from Singapore I by Alba Escayo
Mixed Media on Paper (Framed).
40.5 x 30 cm.
2021.
Statement from Artist: Informed and inspired by the collective multi-culturalism observed during my travels, I employ a similar hybridization of cultural and natural influence in my work, engaging an immersion of icons, colours, and environmental influence in my paintings.
The textural, collage influenced, and effervescent paintings encapsulate a creative practice which is as consciously multi-dimensional as it`s subject matter. Uninhibited by material application, my works are produced in a number of formats—often ranging from precious, small, “postcard” size works, to immersive wall scale pieces. Using acrylic, oil, Chinese ink, and any number of mediums in tandem, the result is a vibrant, thoughtful, and interactive, as the places, which inspire its inception.
