One day, one of the artists was driving past Chinatown in Singapore and stopped at the junction, the Chinese New Year decorations were up and she was captured by the majestic pose by the tigers and the iconic People’s Park complex(珍珠坊) serving as the unexpected backdrop. She grabbed her phone and took a picture of it. This triggered a video made and eventually this exhibition.
The Tiger is known as the king of all beasts in China. The zodiac sign Tiger is a symbol of strength, exorcising evils, and braveness. This exhibition showcases 15 established artists in Asia and their responses to Tiger, the new season, or new spring.
This synchronised drop by 14 artists is a celebration of the year of the Tiger and the spirit of us marching bravely forward and hopeful of a brighter NFT future. The Year of Tiger is said to be one of many changes, and with changes, opportunities arise. Hear us roar!
