Algorithms don't merely structure our digital lives—they influence how we think, feel, and connect on a profoundly human level. In this upcoming exhibition, The Algorithm of Faith, Alicja Milesi delves into the intersection of technology, spirituality, and our innermost desires.

Blending traditional painting with extended reality (XR) experiences, the exhibition invites viewers to explore a world of synthetic beliefs and archetypes. By surfacing unconscious patterns and integrating algorithms into age-old debates about divinity, Alicja asks: Can technology become a mirror of our faith? Does a higher power exist—or have we built it ourselves?

This thought-provoking journey reimagines how we perceive belief in an age shaped by digital systems, and marks the culmination to Alicja’s residency at INSTINC Space.

BIO of Artist

Alicja Milesi

Alicja Milesi is a Polish-Italian visual artist and a medium ecologist who merges grounded arts -  traditional artistry, with the digital realm of illusion. Her vandalistic approach involves breaking apart and dissecting the creative process, in a search for connection with authenticity, and sense of self in today's digital era.

Through her art, she delves into the multifaceted world of human portraits and the intricacies of human needs and emotions, exploring the dynamic interplay between individuals, their environments, and their inner worlds. Her work questions the relationship between subjective perception and objective reality, as she delves into our yearning for a tangible sense of the world.

She's deeply interested in the influence of digital media and AI technology in contemporary society, particularly in the context of a capitalist civilisation. She investigates how these influences impact social dynamics, human interactions, and our understanding of reality, as we're continually exposed to more information and solutions tailored to our individual perception of reality.

She is currently exploring Generative AI as a creative medium, pushing the boundaries of creativity and redefining the art of portraiture while also delving into how we interact with algorithms and examining the key factors that enhance our connection to a higher power during interactions with digital technology.
